Position Overview:
As a Server or Bartender, you will be part of a dedicated team working toward a shared vision of elevating the dining experience on Chicago’s South Side. You’ll be expected to uphold detailed steps of service that reflect our high standards and ambitions. Key Responsibilities:
Service Excellence:
• Uphold detailed steps of service with precision and care, striving to provide a world-class dining experience for every guest.
• Commit to our vision of achieving a James Beard Award or Michelin Star, embodying hospitality excellence at all times.
• Ensure all interactions with guests reflect the professionalism and warmth that earned us the Jean Banchet Award for Best in Hospitality.
Server Duties:
• Greet guests warmly and deliver exceptional service from arrival to departure.
• Present and explain menu offerings with enthusiasm, including expertly pairing food, wine, and cocktails.
• Take orders accurately, manage multiple tables with ease, and ensure timely communication with the kitchen and bar teams.
• Stay informed on current food and beverage trends to elevate the guest experience.
• Handle guest feedback gracefully, using it as an opportunity to improve.
Bartender Duties:
• Prepare and serve high-quality cocktails, wine, and beverages, adhering to house recipes and guest preferences.
• Stay creative and contribute to the development of new, on-trend cocktails and drink pairings.
• Provide engaging, bar-side service while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
• Manage bar inventory and ensure all safety and sanitation guidelines are followed.
General Responsibilities:
• Stay creative and collaborate with the team to suggest new menu items, pairings, and experiences.
• Attend pre-shift meetings to stay informed about menu changes, special events, and service updates.
• Accurately handle payments, process transactions, and balance cash drawers.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a server or bartender role in a high-volume, upscale restaurant or bar.
• Knowledge: Basic wine knowledge is required, along with a willingness to expand your expertise.
• Skills: Exceptional communication, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Attitude: A passion for hospitality and a willingness to be part of a team that’s striving for excellence and recognition on a national level.
• Certification: BASSET and Food Handler licenses (required prior to starting).
