Job Description
Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary
The Finish Specialist/Painter plasters and constructs new walls and ceilings.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health's mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County. Models Eskenazi values of Professionalism, Respect, Innovation, Development and Excellence
Plasters and constructs new walls and ceilings
Lathes, plasters and patches existing walls and ceilings
Tapes, spackles and finishes drywall
Cleans and maintains equipment
Prepares surface for primer or undercoat sealer, by brushing, sanding, chipping and scraping
Repairs cracks and holes in surfaces by filling and wet sanding smooth and remove dirt
Job Requirements
Completion of high school or equivalent (GED), plus completion of a three year approved painter or plasterer apprenticeship program or five years of related work experience as a painter or plasterer may be accepted in lieu of educational requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of materials best suited for work
Ability to work from blue prints and plans
Knowledge of the different types of paint and plastering tools
Safety in general, Infection Control Risk Assessment Guidelines
Ability to stain and varnish, tape and finish drywall, and a basic knowledge of how to apply wall coverings and plaster
Ability to:
Use appropriate communication skills
Work from ladders or scaffolds
Communicate both orally and in writing; use age appropriate communication skills
Provide on the job education/training as determined by the shop supervisor
Move furniture when job dictates
Follow written and verbal instructions effectively
